How it started

In 2009 Nohra decided to move from Bogota to Taganga - a small fishing village - because for many years her dream was to wake up and look out at the sea. Her son, Andres, followed and now they share that reality every day with their guests.

Casa Tara is our hostel that made this dream possible, and where Nohra expects to spend the rest of her days.

The name of our hostel has a special meaning. First of all, "casa" means home in Spanish, secondly "Tara" means "dream in the sea" in Wayuunaiki, which is the language of the Wayuu tribe. They were one of the first inhabitants here among other ethnic groups. This dream in the sea came true with love, dedication and gave us a sign that anything can be done in life with perseverance and unity.

The cozy and family atmosphere in our business makes our guests feel at home and will allow them to enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Comfort, clean and warm hospitality are they key valuables of Casa Tara.

Taganga is located 10 minutes from downtown of Santa Marta (easy accesible by public transport) and 40 minutes from Simon Bolivar's Airport.
